ABOUT Malin limited
Malin Limited is a leading agricultural company specializing in the production and processing of high–quality seed rice, milled rice and other rice products. The company was established in 2012, and it’s registered at cooperate affairs in Sierra Leone. The company is registered with SLESCA. It’s a Limited Liability Company. We have Twenty staff, two admin and Forty field staff. MALIN was initially a supplier of farming machinery to the Seed Multiplication Project in Sierra Leone which was funded by GIZ Sierra Leone. Malin also supported the Regional Rice Value Chain in the Kambia District, by providing land preparation services to 2,000 smallholder rice farmers. This entailed ploughing, harrowing and seed harrowing for small holder farmers.
In 2020, MALIN served as a service provider for the Ministry of Agriculture to support 3,000 small holder farmers by providing farming inputs in the form of seeds, fertilizers and pesticides and farming machinery in the form of tractors and power tillers in the Kambia District. In 2022, MALIN was contracted as a service provider by the World Bank to provide mechanisation and agricultural inputs for the cultivation of rice to 1000 farmers in the Kambia District.
In 2024, Malin Limited has embarked on over 200ha of rice field at Lunsar in partnership with SLARIS Project to produce certified quality seeds and paddy for Sierra Leone farmers. Areas under each crop variety is ROK 10(8.85Ha),ROK 34(185.14 Ha) and NERICA L19 (6.01Ha). So far about 200ha have been seeded currently at vegetative stage. Cropping started from the 6th of June 2024 to 31st of July 2024.
